This talk will discuss acute and chronic kidney disease in cats and dogs, including common causes, presenting signs, and prognosis, and important treatment considerations with a focus on fluid therapy. Fluid therapy is an easy, cheap treatment tool that is essential for good outcomes in renal disease however when performed incorrectly can result in worsened patient outcomes. We will tackle some of the common myths of fluid therapy, including why more is not always better. By the end of this talk you will hopefully be equipped with the tools you need to manage these cases in practice.
