I will be discussing some novel research I am conducting at the VSS Carrara hospital involving the use of locoregional anaesthesia. The study examines the use of lignocaine spray applied to the soft palate/ventricles/tonsils and its influence on the use of opioid and anaesthetic induction agents from pre-medication to discharge from the hospital. In addition to this I will be discussing the anaesthetic management of brachycephalic patients undergoing BOAS corrective surgery more holistically and touching on the move towards opioid free anaesthesia for these patients.
